Highland Gathering 2014 in Upper Hutt

It was a perfect day to be out and watch the 2014 Upper Hutt Highland Gathering at Harcourt Park. The sun was out and no sign of rain. So with a folding chair, umbrella (for the sun this time), packed lunch and a camera, I set out to the park. Just a few cars when I reached the park but at 9:30, they started the highland dancing competitions.

Though my photos and videos are not that good, I am sharing them with you.

Beginners' Scottish Country Dance Celebration Oct 2014

The Beginners' Scottish Country Dance Celebration on October 2014 that was 

Hosted by the Upper Hutt Scottish Country Dance Club had been well-planned,well-coordinated and well-executed. The venue where the dance was held was very spacious so it was able to accommodate the many dancers comfortably.

 As the photos and videos here show, the dancers from different clubs who joined, seem to have enjoyed the night of dancing.

The Band members played very well and I loved their Scottish attire.

Lower Hutt Scottish Country Dance Club on its 60th Dance anniversary Sept. 23, 2014

The Lower Hutt Scottish Country Dance Club just celebrated its 60th Dance Anniversary on Sept. 23, 2014.  Members of different clubs joined them in celebrating! 

 The musicians, Marian Anderson and Max Ketchin came all the way from Scotland to play for Lower Hutt Scottish Country Dance Club's 60th Dance Anniversary.

The photos and videos show how the dancers enjoyed dancing to the beat of the imported band's playing. .
